Basic Life and Accidental Death Insurance

During your initial eligibility period as an active employee, the amount of basic life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance depends on your age* as outlined below: 

  • Under age 65: $50,000 
  • Age 65 and over: $26,000

 

*No medical exams or health questions required
Basic Life and Accidental Death Insurance

Eder Health and Life Benefits offers a group life insurance benefit that is underwritten by Reliance Standard Life Insurance Co.
Below are the benefits offered to you if you work 16 or more hours per week for a congregation, district office, or camp.

If you work for a denominational agency or other employer that offers Eder Health and Life Benefits, contact your employer
for your benefit levels.

Supplemental Life Options

Supplemental life insurance is in addition to your basic life coverage.
The cost is based on your age group and the amount of coverage you choose.

During your initial eligibility period, as an active employee, you can: 

  • Choose coverage in increments of $10,000
  • Elect up to five times your salary with a maximum of $400,000
  • Get up to up to $300,000 with no medical exams or health questions 

Coverage for your spouse and dependent child is also available. 

Spouse coverage:

  • Choose coverage in increments of $10,000 up to a maximum of $150,000
  • Selected coverage cannot exceed more than 50 percent of your own elected amount of coverage
  • Up to $40,000 is available to your spouse without medical exams or health questions 

Dependent child coverage:

  • You can choose coverage between $10,000 or $20,000 for each dependent child, both available without medical exams or health questions
